NewsRegistration Open: NCI Summer Curriculum in Cancer Prevention08 December 2011The NCI Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program will again host the NCI Summer Curriculum in Cancer Prevention in 2012. This educational opportunity has long been recognized as an opportunity for scientists, clinicians, and persons from other disciplines to learn the latest information about preventing cancer. The summer program consists of two separate courses: The Principles and Practice of Cancer Prevention and Control Course is a 4 week course designed to give participants a broad-based perspective on the current state-of-the-science in the field of cancer prevention. Experts representing disciplines from across the entire spectrum of cancer prevention research will present lectures on timely topics. It will be held from July 9 - August 3, 2012 in Rockville, Maryland, with lectures from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm on most days. The Molecular Prevention Course is a 1 week course that helps participants gain a stronger background in the molecular biology and genetics of cancer. It provides a thorough overview of cutting-edge research in molecular epidemiology, chemoprevention, biomarkers, and translational research. This course will be held from August 6 - August 10, 2012, also in Rockville, MD, with lectures from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm on most days.
