Description: Dr. Charlotte D. Owens, M.D.
Associate Director, RTRN Research Coordinating Center
Director of the Division of Industry Collaborative Research
Chief Medical Officer, Office of Translational Technologies
Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Morehouse School of Medicine

Dr. Owens, formerly the lead consultant of the healthcare sector at Booz Allen and Director of Global Clinical Affairs at the Kimberly Clark Corporation, will introduce the concept of partnering with industry, why it is important to each party and what it looks like to a target audience of Basic Science and Clinical Chairs and Co-Chairs, clinicians, researchers, staff, lab staff, finance, legal and compliance staff. She is able to provide two levels of participation depending on the infrastructure and ability for sites to respond within five business days or less to potential new opportunities, and she will discuss these options in detail.

These sessions are open to any and all medical specialties since opportunities in all specialties are frequent. Some of the recent specialty areas have included medical oncology, endocrinology, psychiatry, pediatrics, women’s health, pulmonary and critical care, and vascular surgery. At this time, the emphasis is heavy on the clinical side. However, non-clinical activities may become available in the near future.
