Description: Implementation Research is the scientific study of methods to promote
the integration of research findings and evidence-based interventions
into healthcare policy and practice. It seeks to understand the behavior
of healthcare professionals and support staff, healthcare organizations,
healthcare consumers and family members, and policymakers in context as
key variables in the sustainable adoption, implementation and uptake of
evidence-based interventions. Dr. McFarlane will present a multi-level
conceptual model, principles of implementation science, and theories of
behavior as applied to research of home visiting programs for parents of
young children.
