Description: The Office of Research Services (ORS) will host the day-long “Rising Stars in Academia” workshop presented by Dr. Lynn Miner and Dr. Jeremy Miner, renowned Grantwriter and Proposal Development Consultant. One of his most highly regarded, most requested and successful workshops, the “Rising Stars in Academia” is a very intensive, hands-on grant writing experience that requires active involvement between the consultant and participants before, during and after the training. It will be necessary for participants to bring their proposal ideas and partial drafts to the table to be put under the “linguistic microscope” to increase their scholarly persuasiveness. Participants will receive expert coaching so they will leave the session with the knowledge, skills and confidence to embark on a successful grantseeking journey. Following the workshop, Dr. Miner will actively stay in touch with participants to guide them through submission of their final proposal to the sponsor.

ORS requests the assistance of Deans and Directors to seek out and recommend your faculty to attend this specialized session. Please submit your participant names to Melody Bentz, ORS Grants and Contracts Specialist, mbentz@hawaii.edu, by Wednesday, February 13th. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Melody by email or call her at (808) 689-2324. Participants will receive further details and information in their confirmation email.
