Seminar/Event Detail2011-12 Public Health OPHS Colloquium Series: The Care and Feeding of Evidence-Based MedicineDate/Time: 20 October 2011, 12 noon - 1pm Description: Dr. Frank L Tabrah, Emeritus Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health, & Physiology, joined the U. H. School of Medicine in 1963 as Clinical Professor of Pharmacology while practicing plantation medicine in Kohala, Hawaii, where he was also a Pediatric Consultant for the State Health Department. His research interests have included Polynesian plant & marine pharmacology & electromagnetic field effects on living systems. Dr. Tabrah has had public health experience in Micronesia and Nigeria, lists 56 peer reviewed publications, & is the author of Health Care, Hawaii Style, Model for The Nation, which explores past & present health practices in Hawaii & the nation. Dr. Tabrah’s presentation, The Care and Feeding of Evidence Based Medicine rises out of current media and insurance payment issues in health care & the uses of evidence-based information for Public Health planning and patient care.
