We are planning a one day, in-person meeting in Las Vegas, to orient reviewers to the CTR-IN Pilot Grant Program - the evaluation rubric as it should be applied in this environment, and the online review system. Approximately 50 brief proposals (Specific Aims and Research Strategy sections limited to 5 pages) will need expert scientific reviews. We are recruiting 20 to 30 qualified reviewers with review panel experience and expertise in the following areas: Biomarkers - Cancer - Cardiovascular - Community Engagement - Environmental Health - Gastrointestinal - Health Systems - Immunology/Autoimmune - Metabolic/Obesity Research - Neurodegenerative Patient Centered Outcomes - Research - Physical Therapy/Body Mechanics - Prevention - Public health - Traumatic Brain Injury - Vulnerable Populations - Women’s Health Each reviewer will be responsible for up to five proposals. The review criteria and format are those established by the NIH (Overall Impact, Significance, Approach, Investigators, Environment, Protection of Human Subjects, Vertebrate Animals, Biohazards, and Budget). About the Mountain West CTR-IN: Hosted at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), our CTR-IN is supported by the NIH through the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) under the Institutional Development Award (IDeA) program. The IDeA CTR awards are focused on the development of clinical and translational research capacity in IDeA states. The Mountain West CTR-IN will accomplish this by providing a range of services that will help investigators with faculty appointments at partner institutions develop the skills and expertise to conduct clinical or translational research. |
